Who We Are
A family-owned business with five generations (65 years) of shellfish harvesting experience, Bowen & Bowen Clams, L.L.C. is committed to sustainable shellfish production. The first three generations of Bowens, originating from Hog Island (Broadwater) Virginia, were traditional watermen harvesting shellfish from Virginia’s waters. The fourth generation worked in the new aquaculture industry in the mid 1980’s before starting Bowen & Bowen Clams, LLC in 2002. Our Shellfish
Our clams and oysters are farm raised in distinct creeks in the Chesapeake Bay and bordering various Barrier islands along Virginia Eastern Shore’s seaside. This enables us to have a continuous harvest regardless of closures. Our vertically integrated process, from
hatchery to harvest, ensures the highest quality of product. We are a wholesale distributor and provide various sizes of clams including Middle Necks (1”+) and Little Necks (7/8”-1”).
